Monika and Ludmilla belong to the first oriental dancers in Germany since 1979.
They have considerably founded and influenced the dance scene. Extensive studies in the countries of origin, many years of Teaching- and Performance experience in Germany and other parts of the world, as well as intense active work have created their distinctive, individual styles of dancing. In 1985 they founded the „Zentrum für Orientalischen Tanz“ in Munich and with that one of the first Bellydance schools in the german-speaking area. Since then, their school is known as the adress for those wishing to learn Bellydancing and further educate themselves. The organisation and execution of Shows, Festivals and other Events made Oriental Dance accesible for a broad audience. „Wind, Sand und Sterne“ at Lustspielhaus etc. In the years 1993, 1995 and 2000 they produced a spectacular series of Videos (DVDs) named „Wind, Sand und Sterne“ which shows the entire scope of oriental dancing ranging from traditional egyptian bellydance to experimental variations. Their textbook „ Bauchtanz-Harmonie und Lebensfreude“ was published by the GU- Verlag in 1996. Edited reprint by BLV-Verlag in 2006 with the title „ Bauchtanz-Harmonie und Sinnlichkeit. This benchmark for oriental dance is also available in Italy ( „ La Danza del Ventre, Edizioni Red Edizioni 1997“, and in the Netherlands ( Basiscursu- Buikdansen- Exotisch en verleidelijk...“ Centrale Uitgeverij Deltas). In 2005 Ludmilla and Monika started with the production of their triumphant series of Music CDs „ Very Cairo!“ ( so far available: Vol. 1, 2, 3 and 4 ), which has been well received in the international bellydance scene. Since 1982 reams of Performances and engagements amongst others in cooperation with the egyptian national tourist office, mediaclub Munich, Catholic Churchday, Bavarian embassy in Bonn, Bavaria Filmstudios, State Opera House Munich, 1994/1995 Concert series with the airforce's Music corpse, 1995 choreography of the oreintal dance piece „Peer Gynt“ for the Munich Residenztheater, 1999 Concert series with the Munich philharmonic orchestra, chamber concerts for children, dance to music by Bela Bartok. Their successes are documented in several Newspaper articles and appearances in radio and television. One of the first telecasts was the movie „ Die neue Bewegung“ by BR in 1983. This was followed by numerous reportages, Interviews and Live performances for the BR, TV-München, RTL, SFB and SWR. Since 1983 the media regularily reports on Monika and Ludmilla. |
